This is my first blog upon coming to Blogger and leaving Windows Live Spaces. I am excited at the prospect of what is to come. Just like the New Year.

Most of you have already abandoned your Spaces and moved to Word Press. I just can't bring myself to do it until the last minute. As it is I'm checking out other blogging accounts that have an area for my website where I can support applications, gadgets, animated gifs and other things that I must.
I have found that Google Blogger has great features that I want and may go with them. Also, I like their Gmail. I have an account with them now and it comes in handy for my new website on Blogger. It’s a tough choice but I need to find another home for Bekkie In Wonderland and fast.
During my move if you need to get ahold of me use my normal email at: Bekkiehere@msn.com. Please, do not use Gmail I’m thinking of using that email account for something else. I have been noticing some people are sending me duplicate copies of email to my MSN account and sending the same email to my Gmail account. Thus you are filling my inboxes with a lot of crap. I have asked those contacts doing this to stop, if the people in question keep doing it I will block you from my accounts. This is only a few people so if you haven't heard from me about this, then don't worry it's not you.
I'd like to hear from some of you just how much you like the Word Press blogging experience. Also, has anyone switched to a different blogging word processor besides Windows Live Writer and if so, which one and how do you like it?
A Shore History Of Our Spaces
Windows Live Spaces began as MSN Spaces and was launched in early December 2004 with the aim of allowing its users to reach out to others by publishing their thoughts, photos and interests in an easy and compelling way. With this goal, MSN Spaces finds itself competing with similar services like MySpace, Yahoo, Facebook and Google.
As well as allowing users to share their thoughts, photos and interests, MSN Spaces users were given over 100 varied themes and several different page layouts to choose from when designing their MSN Space. Users also had the option to set access rights for visitors to their MSN Space based on the relationship between them (e.g. Friends, Family etc.). Visitors were also granted when their contacts’ had updated their MSN Space.
On September 27, 2010, Microsoft announced that it would discontinue Windows Live Spaces and in partnership with Automattic, a free opt-in migration of user blogs to Word Press will be offered to Windows Live Spaces users. Beginning January 4, 2011, users were not able to make changes to Spaces, but contents were still viewable and downloadable. Windows Live Spaces was fully shut down on March 16, 2011.
I re-did my Space for the last time so I hope you enjoy it! I am going to miss it so much, I'm finding it hard to find another Internet Provider that offers something like our Spaces but Blogger looks good so that’s probably where I’ll go. The website templates look really nice.
I want to thank my Network friends for following my Space and for all your comments and postings, etc. I already miss your Spaces, for those of you who have switched already.
Now it's harder to make new friends online because we have all scattered to the corners of the Internet. Windows Live has finally taken away the last thing that held our little group together. Most of us went back to Facebook and I’m just keeping my nose to the paper writing and biding my time.
In the meantime I am going to blog like mad until the finial moment when I have to switch my blogs somewhere else. Then I will let you know where I'll be.
The End is near!

Yes it was a huge shock when WL removed our Guestbooks without hardly any word. It was one of the main areas where we could leave our personal postings for our good friends and of course html which allowed us to leave much more than just a personal note behind. Little did we know then that after licking our wounds over losing our Guestbooks that they would take away the one that made Windows Live different from all the other social networks, our personal spaces!
MSN is not putting their best foot forward in the fight for the future outcome of social networking. Being MSN they should be the strong leaders of an awesome social network by now! Instead they are just hanging in there doing their best invitation of Facebook which will make them the same as every other social network out there. Very boring indeed.
When you join a social network online do you want to join one just because everyone else is there or because you want to make it your own? After all a link is a link no matter where it's leading to. Yet the more I search for another network that has the content I want the bleaker it becomes.
We are in this turbulence of change at WL because MSN owns shares of Facebook and have tried to buy it out with no luck. So like all huge but small minded companies that make a load of money they are doing what they consider the next best thing. Becoming Facebook (so to speak.) I'm sure you noticed how our profiles became our social pages and all the other changes that are going on.
Without Spaces on WL what is left? A profile and Messenger and that’s not much of a social network at all.
This made me think about what I would like to have in a social network if I could design my own. Some of the things I'd like to have are:
- A provider that gives us our own space to design using html boxes and applications.
- We would have a section to keep up with friends and networking.
- This space would be our home, our main page with our profile on it and from there we would have a menu to get to our email and such.
- We already get email notifications for comments, etc. so I think the social part of the space could lighten up a little so there isn't so much repeating of information on it
- Our blogs would be on our space, one at a time (the most recent first) and after that they would go in a blog achieve for reading later.
- Our photo albums would be on the space in a photo section not on the main page like it is now and animated gifs would work without having to double click them. Images used in blogs would not be put in a photo album along with our other photos in albums for friends to view.
- On our main account space we will be able to keep track of our network of friends by using the friends list and friends online would be color coded so we can tell what they're up to.
- If someone is available to chat a chat box will pop up so you can chat at any time without signing in to other areas or having to put up with Messenger.
- Messenger is just an extra hassle we don't need there are many better alternatives out there for chatting while online. I’d like to have chatting with web cams be more popular.
- When writing a blog or email for your social networking space it will bring up a nice word processor, (like Windows Live Writer) to write your blog or email with, and publish or send when finished. You could write blogs, email, or anything all on one word processor in one place.
Of course we know we are losing our Spaces real soon so all I can do is take my own suggestions and see what I can find. Facebook is not any of these things to me!
MSN has already done the deed and are implementing their changes as they see fit. They asked for our input on changes being made but my guess is that they didn’t care. If what we wanted really mattered this wouldn't be happening and by now they may have had the no. one social network out there. This is the beginning of the end for any chance of a social network for MSN and it’s damn sad.
I looked at what's to come after changing over to Word Press and although it's not the end of the world I am going to miss it very much. Most of all I will miss my network of friends whom like me, have had to scramble around to find other perches online. I already feel the strain of all of us splitting up and can only hope we all stay in touch.
What did I like best about my Space?
I liked my theme, gadgets, Guestbook and lists of my likes all of which I have worked very hard on since I opened this account in 2001. Not to mention my Globe Tracker, my live music at playlist.com (which has given me free awesome music all these years on my space) my Alice In Wonderland art for my space, my link to 13 newspapers for the news everyday, Free Tarot Readings, A Private Message From Me To You, my moon phase chart, my Magic Fate Ball, (don't laff, I use it everyday) and so much more that I will lose that will change my online experience in the future.
Last but not least, the memories....I've been here a while. Got any thoughts you might want to share about what you like or what you don't like about what's going on?
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, I'll probably see you on Word Press with my tail between my legs.

My profile was hacked this October around the 3rd and I got it back a little after a week. Luckily they didn’t screw up my account while they had it but it was a very scary and uncertain time for me. I will tell you how it happened so that you will know what to look for. This type of hacking is called “Phishing” (as in fishing for something,) and it’s happening a lot now.
It’s easier to fall for this while we are going through these changes on Windows Live and are having a lot of technical problems at the same time. You start receiving more email from your server about problems they are having and how you can help. Most of the time these emails are sincere but Phishing is new and you think you are helping by giving your account information and they “get you” at a weak time.
One day in your email you get this:
Thru 10/14/10 10:10 PM
Attachments, pictures and links in this message have been blocked for your safety.

Doesn’t it look real? It certainly did in an email! I thought it was totally real and had never gotten any before this. It sounded like a scam but I didn’t want to lose my account in 24 hours and they are really making a lot of changes right now. This is the second one I got this week so I better answer this one. So, I gave in like a drug addict! "Don't take my Windows Live away!" So thinking it secure I gave them my information. This is how the term “Phishing” was coined.
So of course they used my password, changed it and I was out. While they were in my account they dumped all my friends (contacts in my email too when they were done with them) and changed my settings in Privacy. They also linked other email accounts of theirs to mine (three of them) and changed my secret question. All you need is an answer to a secret question on an account to get back into it with a password reset so they had installed back doors just in case I did get my account back so they could take it back again. I’m getting ahead of myself here…
About a week after answering the email I got a call from my mother on a Monday. I had just been on my account that weekend so I was surprised when she said my account may have been hacked because she received an email from me (like lots of you got) asking for money to be wired to me. Here's an example of the email:
Subject: I Need Your Help
Date: Mon, 4 Oct 2010 04:07:12 -0700
How are you doing? You may find it difficult to believe this but I don't have a choice than to tell you,I'm sorry I didn't inform you about my traveling to United Kingdom for a Seminar, I need you to do me a favor as soon as you receive this e-mail because I misplaced my wallet where my money and other valuable stuff were kept while coming back to the hotel from a function, I need you to assist me with a loan urgently I will be needing the sum of $2,800 to sort out my hotel bills and get myself back home, I will appreciate whatever you can afford to help me with and I will pay you back as soon as I return, please let me know if you can assist so that I can send you the details, your assistance will be greatly appreciated.
I tried to get into my account and felt sick to my stomach when I realized I'd been taken! Not only that but since they had linked their email accounts to mine any password resets I expected in my email they would receive too. Very smart but once I let MSN know they had done that I got my email reset through Comcast where they couldn't see what was going on. Once they get a hold of your email account they dig in deep cause they don't want to lose all of their fraudulent work! Also once you fall for this I guarantee you won’t do it again!
My friend James and I got an idea when he got one of these fake emails from me. We wrote an answer to the email trying to get more information. The email James sent back to them said this:
Date: Oct. 4th
Oh My God! How could I help>I really have been your friend and if you need anything at all you know my number. Just call collect and we can get this all taken care of.
This is what they sent back:
Thanks a lot for your response and concern. I will be happy if you can assist me in any way you can and I will appreciate whatever you can afford to help me with, you can send the money to my details through Western Union money transfer all you have to do is go to the closet western union location with the money in cash and instruct the agent to wire it to my personal details below:
Receiver's Name Rebecca Sanchez
Address: 11 Warwick Way, London, SW1V 4HT, United Kingdom
Please as soon as you send the money I will like you to email me the 10 digit (Mtcn) Numbers and all the details used in sending the money to me, I am counting on you and I look forward to read from you later today.
Of course no monies were wired and James didn't get another email after this because I think by then they knew I was trying to get my account back via that email link I mentioned earlier. This just goes to show how easy it is for them once they get your account info! As long as you will wire them the money through Western Union they can get it and it's one of the easiest ways to receive monies from people without getting caught or tracing it easily. I'm not surprised they didn't want to call James collect.
Once back in my account I found another important thing to keep track of and that is how many cell phones are attached to your account. Since you can get a 'code' from MSN for a one time password reset that gets sent to your cell phone you better make sure that once your account is hacked that it's your cell phone number that is still on the account and no others.
Mainly the hackers left the social settings of my account alone. The picture albums, blogs, my space and most of my profile settings hadn't been touched. I did think it strange that they did change some profile details inserting their own instead of mine. I got a birth date, they were an engineer, the secret question had been set to teacher, they changed the state to Texas but the few odd facts they did change didn't make any sense unless they were hoping I'd give up on Bekkie In Wonderland and they would have it to keep for ripping other people off. Who knows except one thing is clear. These are all creeps that want to use our good names to steal money from our friends and loved ones through our private contacts on our email accounts! And they will go to great lengths once they have your account, to keep and control it.
I'm very sorry for any inconvenience the hacking of my site has caused anyone I know. I'm keeping this profile until the bitter end. Welcome back to Bekkie In Wonderland and it's good to be back! I hope I answered all of your questions, if not I'm open to comments. Learn from me and my mistakes and next time hackers come Phishing make sure they go home without a catch.

Adam Wilson posted two messages on Twitter on April 15, 2009 The first one, "GO BADGERS," might have been sent by any University of Wisconsin-Madison student cheering for the school team.
His second post, 20 minutes later, was a little more unusual: "SPELLING WITH MY BRAIN."
Wilson, a doctoral student in biomedical engineering, was confirming an announcement he had made two weeks earlier -- his lab had developed a way to post messages on Twitter using electrical impulses generated by thought.
That's right, no keyboards, just a red cap fitted with electrodes that monitor brain activity, hooked up to a computer flashing letters on a screen. Wilson sent the messages by concentrating on the letters he wanted to "type," then focusing on the word "twit" at the bottom of the screen to post the message.
The development could be a lifeline for people with "locked-in syndrome" -- whose brains function normally but who cannot speak or move because of injury or disease.
Wilson and his supervisor, Justin Williams, made the breakthrough last month after hearing a question posed on the radio.
"Wouldn't it be great if you could Twitter just by thinking about it?"
That query sparked what Williams called the "a-ha moment."
"We can do that," said Williams, an assistant professor and the principal investigator at the lab in Madison, Wisconsin. "We can do that tomorrow."
In the end, it wasn't quite "tomorrow," Williams said, but Wilson had written the software to link existing technology with Twitter "within a couple of days" of starting on the project in March.
He sent Williams his first "tweet" -- or message -- from the brain-computer interface on March 31st, 2009.

Microsoft is not admitting defeat, but it is throwing in the towel: the Redmond software giant has announced that it is shutting down its Windows Live Spaces blogging service which it claims supports some 30 million people and converting users over to WordPress. WordPress will also be the default option when Microsoft updates its Windows Live Writer blogging tool later this year.
“Rather than having Windows Live invest in a competing blogging service, we decided the best thing we could do for our customers was to give them a great blogging solution through WordPress.com,” wrote Microsoft’s Dharmesh Mehta.
Microsoft is looking to ease the transition for Windows Live Spaces users to WordPress: the companies have worked out an automatic method for transferring blogs, photos, and comments from Live Spaces to a new WordPress blog. Users will be able to connect a WordPress.com blog to Windows Live using Messenger Connect, so Windows Live friends will be able to receive notifications of new posts via Windows Live.
Users who don’t want to move to WordPress.com can opt to download their blog from Windows Live Spaces to their PC; from there, they should be able to leverage the data to another blogging service or home grown site, although it’ll take more work. Users will need to select a new WordPress theme for their blog, but URLs will automatically be directed to the new WordPress blog. Microsoft has posted some FAQs on the transition, but Live Spaces users won’t have forever to make up their minds: Windows Live Spaces will be accessible for “the next few months,” but will be closed in 2011.
Taking over Window Live Spaces is a major coup for WordPress, which despite a spate of high profile security gaffes has emerged as a leading scalable content management service for blogs and Web sites. However, it’s also another black eye for Microsoft, with Live Spaces going down in history as an example of Microsoft’s huge fail at their attempt at a social network. Another was the video sharing site Soapbox.
Good luck everyone I’ll see you on Blogger!

A Carrot, An Egg, & A Cup Of Coffee
A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.
Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans . She let them sit and boil; without saying a word.
In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me what you see."
"Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied.
Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg.
Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, "What does it mean, mother?"
Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.
"Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?"
Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?
Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?
Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.

As David Carradine's family was flying his body back home all kinds of gossip was popping up on the Internet. I wrote a blog about his death already but some sick people are saying all kinds of things about him now that he's dead and can't defend himself.
Since then more information has come to light. Now the rescue workers are saying his neck and genitals were bound with rope. It's hard to believe anything they are saying after a tabloid there published a crime science photo on the front page that shows his hands are tied too which would be hard for him to do by himself in the hotel room.
Crime Scene Photo Which I Feel Is Staged
Then I read a news article that said when they found his body he was dressed in a woman's wig and fishnet stockings with red lingerie folded on the bed and an erotic photograph pinned to the wall - supporting theories that he accidentally killed himself during an act of auto-erotic asphyxiation. That would be hard to pull off with his hands tied above his head. As you can see the picture is grainy and it's hard to tell who it is. Thai police believe the photo was taken by a member of the forensic team and leaked to the newspaper.
Keith Carradine, the actor's half brother, said in a statement; That the family were profoundly disturbed by the release in Thailand of photographs taken at the scene of David Carradine's death," and threatened legal action against further distribution.
Family members insist the Kill Bill star would not have committed suicide and his U.S.-based lawyer Vicki Roberts claimed the star had been murdered.
Relatives went on to suggest he had been assassinated for delving into the affairs of secretive martial arts sects associated with crime. A panel member on the Larry King show on U.S. television said; "David was very interested in investigating and disclosing secret societies." Carradine's family lawyer Mark Geragos replied; "Absolutely. What that means is connected to his interest in martial arts and so there is a suspicion that if there was some foul play, that may be the first area they should look."
Police spokesman Colonel Somprasong Yenthaum said; "U.S. embassy officials were present during the crime scene investigation. I am confident we are working on the right track. U.S. embassy representatives saw every step of the investigation process in the hotel room."
He said; "Carradine's relatives had the right to seek help from the FBI, but added that the bureau would have to contact Thailand's attorney general, who would then decide whether to forward the request to the police. We can work with FBI if they request and their request is passed. But if they don't come, we can do our jobs," he added.
FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said; "The agency generally only gets involved in death investigations overseas if a crime is suspected."
Carradine's former wives say he regularly tied himself up for sexual kicks, ignoring warnings he might one day kill himself. It's evil of them to speak ill of the dead when he can't defend himself. They will get what they reap sooner or later.
Ulli Lommel, the director of one of his last films is taking advantage of his death by writing about David on his personal web site. "Before we started shooting ‘Absolute Evil – Final Exit,’ David and I spent several hours in his trailer to not only discuss the film and his role, but also issues concerning death, suicide, torture, sex and God.” Ulli, who also costarred in the movie, wrote even more but I won't repeat another word. It's easy for him to say what he wants when Carradine isn't here to defend himself.
Then I found this online and was shocked!
WARNING! THIS IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE IT DON'T CLICK ON THE LINK! Now comes the most disgusting thing I ever saw. No wonder Carradine's family is upset and I can see why they don't trust the Thailand officials.
Autopsy Photos of David Carradine have been leaked online, and perhaps a second set is coming, media reports in Thailand are saying. Many were outraged that a Thai tabloid paper published a death photo of Carradine earlier and more are disgusted with the latest development.
It's sad that such a gentle, shy, talented actor who worked hard for his career is getting this kind of treatment! Knowing martial artists personally I can bet he was killed for seeking out the thing he was most interested in and how easy it would of been for the Thailand police to blame him for dying of auto-erotic asphyxiation. The mob here in the US would be capable of the same type of thing if they wanted to get rid of somebody.
I am only putting this link in because you can easily tell it's him and for extra drama with the autopsy already finished they even put the cord back on his genitals. I hope they clear this up but unfortunately since it happened in another country I doubt they ever will get the clearance or truth of the matter. Again, be warned these pictures are gruesome!

David Carradine was found dead June 3rd 2009 at the age of 72. He was hanging by his neck with a nylon rope in the closet of his Bangkok, Thailand hotel room when found by the maid. He was in Bangkok for filming of the movie 'Stretch' being produced by a United Kingdom-based company. He was the only American cast member.
He was best known for his television role in the series "Kung Fu" in which he played a traveling Shaolin monk in the 1970's.
Investigators found no forced entry into Carradine's room although the rope around his neck was from the curtains in his hotel room. "Foul play is suspected and being looked into." Bangkok Police Lt. Col. Pirom Chanpirom said Thursday.
An autopsy is being conducted at the Bangkok hospital but the results will not be available for at least another day. Circumstances surrounding his death are still unknown and there will be no further comments until more facts can be confirmed.
Here's a video of Carradine on the John Kerwin Show.
The family, his friends and his personal manager asks for privacy at this terrible time but appreciates the many expressions of condolence. Knowing David they can't believe he would ever commit suicide, are in complete shock and brushed aside suggestions that Carradine might have taken his own life. "His death comes at a time when his "career is on a roll," they said. The one thing Carradine's wife, Annie Bierman, wanted everyone to know is "David was not suicidal."
Most people know him as "Bill" in Quentin Tarantino's "Kill Bill" films. He earned a 2005 Golden Globe nomination for his role in the second movie in the two-part saga.
Tarantino, appearing on 'Larry King Live' called Carradine; "One of Hollywood's great mad geniuses. He was a rock star at the time 'Kung Fu' came out." he said, holding up a vintage metal lunch box with an image from the popular show on it. "I'm in shock!" he added.
Carradine's career included more than 100 feature films, two dozen television movies and theater work. David's career as an artist did not begin on the stage, though some of his early career was on and off Broadway. His earliest work was as a sculptor and painter.
He was married five times and divorced four, according to People magazine.
Leah Rozen, movie critic for People magazine said; "He was clearly an actor who followed his own path, he was never a guy who talked a whole lot. You knew as an actor, the characters he played, you knew they had a past, you knew there was probably some unhappiness there, but he wasn't going to talk about it."
He did open up about his life on his official web site. He said; "I've always had an especially hard time with everything I've tried to do. I've made it pretty big as an actor in spite of being terminally shy. ... Invariably, I had huge obstacles to overcome in anything I tried. Had to work against my genes to achieve my dreams."
He was a very fine actor and martial artist and didn't deserve to die the way he did at such a young age. Many people may claim 72 is not young but Americans are living longer and he kept himself in great shape. It's a crying shame the way it went down and I will never believe he killed himself. If he had been in the US when it happened we would of had a better chance of finding out the truth about his death.
My roommate saw him in a bar one time just sitting by himself having a drink. Being a martial artist he was thrilled to run into him but didn't bother him respecting his right to have a normal night out.
He said as he was looking at him David just smiled and raised his glass to him. It made his day and now that he's dead he wishes he would of bought him a drink. We raise a glass to him now to honor a great man and actor. To you David Carradine and God bless you on your journey!
